High School Tutorial

General Information

  • SCCK is pleased to offer full year, academic High School courses for credit. Please view the High School catalog for more information. If you have a specific request for a class offering, please contact the High School Board Representative.
  • High School Tutorial courses are open to students of SCCK. To join SCCK, please send an email request to scck. Once you have been entered into the system, you will receive membership information and a login id and password. At this point, you may fill out an enrollment form.
  • SCCK membership requires family enrollment application (including a fee) and service in the group.  Read more about SCCK membership here
  • Online class registration for the High School Tutorial will begin on March 1, 2012 10pm.
  • Space is limited, so please register early.
  • Middle-school students who are interested in a class and have completed the prerequisites should contact the teacher about placement.

Enrollment/Registration Procedure

  • To enroll in the High School Tutorial, simply complete an SCCK enrollment form for your family (see the link on the menu at the right.) Note: Be sure to check the box indicating that you would like to enroll in the High School Tutorial.
  • Complete enrollment forms for each family member involved in SCCK and the High School Tutorial.
  • You will receive an email confirming your enrollment. This email describes how to pay (the fee listed will include both the SCCK enrollment fee and the separate High School enrollment fee.)  Please mail your check as described in the email.
  • Registration for Tutorial Classes will open on March 1, 2012 10pm. To register for specific classes, use the online class registration form. A confirmation email will be sent with payment instructions. Please submit payment as noted below.

Program Fees

  • There is a nonrefundable $45 church donation fee per family for the high school tutorial program. This entire fee is given to the church as payment for the use of their facility. Note: After April 30, 2012, the fee will be increased to $75.
  • Specific class fees are set by the teachers. Please view the catalog for current class offerings. Lab fees may be required for a class and will be stated  in the catalog listing. Lab fees are due upon registration (see Payment, below.)
  • Please note that if the minimum required class size is not met, the class may be canceled, or a higher class fee may be suggested to parents interested in the course.
  • In addition to course fees, it will be the family's responsibility to purchase required texts and supplies for each course.

Payment

  • Enrollment payment instructions will be included in your confirmation email which you will receive upon enrollment.
  • Checks are to be made payable to SCCK, and are due in full within 5 business days of enrolling in the tutorial
  • Note: A $5 late fee will be applied if your check is not received on time.
  • Lab fees (if applicable) are to be paid upon registration.
  • Checks for all tutorial fees (payable to SCCK) may be paid in full upon registration, or divided into 4 checks postdated March 1, 2012 (or the date you register), May 1, 2012, July 1, 2012 and September 1, 2012. Mail all checks in upon registration for classes. Note: the first check should include the registration fees, lab fees, and 25% of the total class fees for your family.  The other three checks should each be made out for 25% of the total class fees.

2012 Calendar

  • Classes will be held on Fridays at St. Josephs Catholic Community in Eldersburg from 9:30am until 4:00pm. There will be a lunch period from 12:30-1:00.
  • The tutorial will span 32 weeks, beginning on September 7, 2012 and ending on May 10, 2013, with Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter breaks.

Student Expectations

  • Students are expected to spend time daily studying and completing homework and/or tests at home.
  • Students are expected to complete assignments thoroughly and on time. If a class is missed, it is the student's responsibility to obtain the missed material.
  • Students are expected to be on time for class.
  • Students are expected to be respectful of teachers, students, other adults, and those working in the building.
  • Students are expected to conduct themselves as mature, well-behaved, well-mannered, godly young adults.
  • Students are expected to be familiar with the current membership policies and bylaws.

Dropping a Class

If a class is dropped before April 30, 2012, a 100% refund of class fees will be made. (Note: Enrollment and lab fees are nonrefundable.) After April 30, 2012, however, no refunds will be given for dropped classes.

Dress Code

  • Students and teachers are expected to dress modestly. A more detailed dress code will be posted soon.
